Question: Senario: Our IT tech told me he'd noticed that one of my subordinates is using his work laptop to book clients for his side business
Senario: Our IT tech told me he'd noticed that one of my subordinates is using his work laptop to book clients for his side business as a photographer. While he is using his work laptop from home in the evening to book clients and we had no specific policies then against personal use of company facilities, I am concerned. I approached the employee to discuss the situation. He told me he'd written the emails on his own time from home and that since the company is requiring that he use his own cell phone and internet service at home, it really comes out even. I'm still not sure though that this is ethical.
