One of the Healthcare Administration program hallmarks at Colorado Christian University is to prepare you to effectively manage and interact with others, grapple with ethical and quality-of-life issues, and efficiently deliver healthcare in a manner that honors Christ and reflects a Christian worldview. The idea of integration and application is fundamental to Christian education. Smith (2011) states, "Our sense of what is important is rooted first and foremost in the fundamental call to be Christian. Nothing is more important than our growth in faith, hope, and love. At the center of our lives we must sustain a pattern of spiritual discipline and nurture that enables us to be thoroughly Christian . . ." (p. 253). It is our hope that your time as a student helped develop a pattern of spiritual discipline and nurture that carries forward into your personal life and your professional career. Reflect on your overall educational experience at CCU, paying close attention to how your experience at a Christian university impacted your personal life and either current, or future professional practice. Things to consider might be changed perspectives, new habits, or a completely different understanding of your life in Christ. Differentiate how this experience will influence your personal life from how it will influence your professional career. How do you now view your role and purpose in those spheres of life? Because this is a reflection paper, first-person is acceptable. You should be able to fully integrate a biblical worldview into the reflection as well as report how specific materials or content from your courses in the HCA program have assisted you in developing the skills and knowledge you will need to be a successful administrator in today's healthcare environment.
