Set up a ring operator and light led's based on the selection.

$1$: Create a program as follows:

$1$: One text ring or menu ring with the following inputs:

"Selection $1^{?}=0$

${?}^{-}$Selection $2^n=1$

"Selection $3^{\text{'}\text{'}}=2$

"Selection $4=3$

add one case statement that contains $4$ frames, each frame containing $4$ boolean constants

Wire the $4$ constants to $4$ front panel LED's labeled $1$ through $4$

Set the constants in the frames such that each selection lights the led $(n)$ that matches with "selection $n"$

Once you have your program working, replace your text ring or menu ring with the other type of the two. See if there are any differences on how these work

Try undefined values

Right click on the ring input and select "properties"

$2$ on the "edit items" tab, check the "allow undefined values at run time" box

Run the program

Click on your ring and select $"..."$

Enter $"5"$ in the box.
