Set up a SQL/MySQL database with a web interface for the set of genome sequences.

The database must contain fields for the following types of data:

i. Database identifier (2 marks)

ii. Gene sequence (2 marks)

iii. Protein sequence (2 marks)

iv. Description (2 marks)

v. Best BLAST hit - with external links to the file on GenBank or UniProt (2 marks)

vi. PDB structure - if any are available with an NGL visualization interface to view the PDB file (5 marks)

Students are not restricted in any way in terms of the technology to be applied to achieve the objectives of operating the above-mentioned database.

The database should ideally not use only the system interface such as PHPMySQL however the use of only a system interface will be accepted. You are encouraged to make your own interface. (5 marks)

The database must be searchable by specific fields/data type (6 marks) and by a query against all data fields (4 marks).
