I would offer a safe and confidential method of contact for employees to reach out and voice their concerns. The most important aspects are to ensure transparency and accessibility so that employees feel comfortable to approach their managers. If the grievance is in regards to their manager, then I would encourage them to reach out to HR. I would initially encourage a face-to-face meeting to discuss the initial concerns, and if things escalate or do not improve, I will then ask the employee and management to write a formal grievance. The next meeting will most likely involve a third-party, such as someone in a leadership or HR role to facilitate. After a decision is made, the employee will have every right to appeal a decision if necessary, so that a panel can look over and make a final determination after the appeal. the most important factor is for employees to feel safe and comfortable to be able to address any issues they have at work.
