Solve the following case study The case study is based on the only English speaking country in South America, called Guyana. Guyana has a population of just under 800,000 people compared to around 65.8 million in the United Kingdom (UK). In terms of size, Guyana is estimated to be around 214, 969 sq km, whilst UK is approximately 243, 610 sq km in comparison, this makes Guyana 88.24% the size of the UK. Using the literature, you will critically review what is happening in the oil and gas industry that has come to media attention in recent times in Guyana, South America and the alleged exploitation by ExxonMobil, a major global oil producing company with its plans to open up a massive new oil frontier in Guyana. This is despite the recent recommendation by the International Energy Agency discouraging any new investment to supply fossil fuel. It is in response to the rising global pressure on climate change, with the drive to introduce more renewable and greener energy sources for a more sustainable future. The question is, to what extent will the discovery of oil transform Guyana's future? Some links to the Exxon oil project in Guyana is included on Moodle to help you but you will also need to critically engage with further research and reading on the project for further context and insight in order to write the assessment. You will have the opportunity to critique current practice in project management drawing on any of the concepts from this module to provide justification for your answers for this assessment which must be supported by evidence from the literature (academic books and journal articles). You may also cite from professional bodies and Institute websites e.g. Association of Project Management (APM), Project Management Institute (PMI), Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Government and Industry websites but there must be a balance with the use of academic references. Use of 'wikis' is to be avoided. Answer the following questions on the base of above case study 1. Critically review the international/global environment and context in which projects are conceived and realised. 2. Evaluate the employment of project management in introducing change and delivering sustainable benefits. 3. Review and develop project lifecycles and the overall framework and processes of project management. 4. Analyse and review methods for defining the scope/deliverables of a project and project requirements. 5. Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of standard techniques for planning and scheduling a project and critically evaluate the nature and causes of project success and failure. 6. Explain Quality Management requirements and explain quality processes commonly used in the project environment
