OPTIONAL HW #1_EDITES.png

Initially, an evaporator was fed with an aqueous solution analyzed to contain 10% wt NaCl and 20% KCl at a steady rate of 20 kg/h. As evaporation continues, this feed ran out and a second feed solution was fed to the same evaporator containing 5% wt NaCl and 5% wt KCl at a steady rate of 50 kg/h. Again, this feed ran out and a third feed solution was fed to the same evaporator containing 15% wt NaCl and 5% wt KCI at a steady rate of 10 kg/h. After 336 min, the product was analyzed to contain 42.6% wt NaCl and 50.2% KCI and weighs 25 kg. a. Calculate how long (in min) the first feed, second feed and third feed were fed to the evaporator. b. If the evaporator evaporates a constant amount of water per hour, calculate the rate at which water is evaporated (in kg/h).
