Special Project - Part 2

Data Analysis Report (20 points)

Open the SPSS dataset provided from the Part 1 Survey results. Follow the instructions below to complete the analyses for descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Submit the SPSS output or it cannot be accepted for credit.

I. Descriptive Statistics

Select any two variables (except gender) and present each one with a table or a graph. Then submit a few sentences to describe the class in terms of those variables.

Using Gender as an example, the narrative could be: "There are 45 females and 11 males in this class, while 1 student's gender is unknown. In other words, about 80% of the students in this class are female."

Table/graph for variable 1: (2 point)

Table/graph for variable 2: (2 point)

Narrative description of the two variables: (2 point)

II. Inferential Statistics

Select one nominal or ordinal variable (except gender) and one continuous variable to form a research question that can be answered by a one-way ANOVA.

Note that the research question doesn't have to be research-worthy or scientifically meaningful; it just needs to sound like a logical question to ask.

Research Question: (2 point)

Independent variable & dependent variable: (2 point)

Null Hypothesis (in words and in symbols): (2 point)

One-way ANOVA Results : (Means, SDs, F statistic, p value, and 2) (3 points)

Hypothesis Testing Result: (Reject the null hypothesis or not?) (2 point)

Answer to the Research Question: (3 point)
