2.4.1 Independent Samples

Use the (simulated) data from Independent.csv to set up a test to determine

whether the means are equal. Compare the results when assuming equal or

unequal variances

2.4.2 Paired Samples

A hypothetical study collected a small sample (40 individuals) with slightly high

blood pressure, comparing their readings after an experimental treatment. The

data is in the file BloodPressure.csv. Set up a test to determine if it is reasonable

that the treatment resulted in a reduction of 2 mm Hg in the Systolic (the high

number) reading.

Note We are only considering whether there was a reduction in the reading.
