Project Assignment

The truss shown in figure is a part of a roof system supporting a total gravity load of $80$ psf of roof surface $($half dead load and half snow$).$ Trusses are spaced at $10$ feet on center. Assume the wind load is not a factor.

Use a computer program to determine the forces in the truss members and provide detailed input and output data.

Based on the LRFD specifications, design the marked truss members $(1,2$ and $3)$ with all required checks to select the appropriate section along with the lightest weight.

Draw the shape of the selected section.
