Example: Order Confirmation Emails, Instructions for how to do something, messages informing staff of an upcoming meeting, messages letting employees know of an upcoming IT system maintenance, a new break room cleanliness policy, or a new all-hands meeting time, a new product launch delay, or the creation of a new division within the company.
Persuade:
Documents that sell products, convince managers or employees, and win customers. Example: sales emails, messages to co-workers convincing them to do something, messages to a client or customer convincing them to do something, messages geared to getting someone to become a donor to your organization, messages designed to convince someone to give you a job, promotion, or role, or messages designed to call your audience to action.

Write a message to your Audience (Step 1) with your Purpose (Step 2) about one of the products below.

Make sure as you are writing this message, you think about things like:
1. What channel is best to deliver this message to your audience? (Email, Social Media Post, Phone call, face-to-face meeting?)(Is it a 20-year-old? How do 20-year-olds communicate best? Is it a 60-year-old? Is it a mom? Etc... Think through these aspects when determining your channel)
2. How can you shape your message and language to speak to the demographic and psychographic of your audience? What is important to them? How can you tailor your message to your audience?
Step #4:
Post on the discussion board below and include three things:
1. Your Imaginary audience profile: List the audience you developed, including the demographic and psychographic factors.
2. Your Purpose: Are you informing or persuading?
3. Your written message that is based on your Audience, Purpose, and Product.
