Step 1 Recall the counting rules for determining the number of experimental outcomes using combinations and permutations. The counting rule for combinations is used when an experiment involves selecting n objects from a set of N objects. The order of the n objects does not matter. For example, the letter combination ABCD would be considered the same outcome as BACD since the same letters are used in each. The counting rule for permutations is similar to the counting rule for combinations, but the order of the n objects from the N objects does matter. For example, the letter combination ABCD would be a different outcome from BACD. The same letters are used, but the order is different. The number of outcomes from a permutation is more than the number of outcomes from a combination. Here, we are interested in obtaining.a.random.sample of four accounts from a population of 51 accounts. The order of the four bank accounts -Select- matter so the counting rule for used. -Select--- should be Submit Skip (you cannot come back) Step 1 Recall the counting rules for determining the number of experimental outcomes using combinations and permutations.
