Students in elementary school learn keyboarding, or the ability to type using the letters and numbers on the keyboard of a computer. The performance measure used might be the number of words correctly typed in two minutes. This can be plotted against the amount of time spent practicing. Different students may show quite different patterns of performance, as illustrated in Fig. 8-3. Each of the lines represents a learning curve, although student D does not seem to be learning very much.
