Students should first get into teams of 2 or 3. Student teams will function as if they were a consulting firm hired by the Blue Thistle Country Club to provide strategic recommendations. Each team will write a report highlighting three (3) areas of concern/issues that need to be resolved facing the Blue Thistle Country Club along with possible solutions to these areas of concern. These are issues that you believe would need to be addressed within the next six months. Note each area of concern or issue should be a BIG issue, not one pointed incident (i.e. Member Dissatisfaction, not one specific example of something that makes the membership unhappy; OR governance, not one example of how the Board of Advisors or members have acted inappropriately). Reports should consider the following areas: Important revenue streams for the club, the club's competitive advantage, governance structure of the club (developer, members, board of advisors), planning and optimal decision-making strategies. Assumptions: . The developer presently owns Blue Thistle Country Club. .The developer is anxious to turn the club over to the members. . You have already completed a SWOT analysis for Blue Thistle CC. . You are to assume the role of club-expert consultant. Simple Rubric: Report is neat and professional, contains key elements included in the instructions- 5 pts Report is at least 700 words- 5 points Report selects 3 areas of concern rooted in the case study reading- 5 points Report contains strategic solutions that are well thought out- 5 Students should first get into teams of 2 or 3.
