Study the Problem Solving Techniques In your groups: Set up a time to meet using the Collaborate platform, or Zoom. You will, over the three weeks, have to meet between 2 - 3 hours in total. All group meetings to be recorded. Add the links to the recordings to the front page of your assignment. Divide the twelve problem solving techniques between the members of your team to study. Each team member will thus have to study two or three techniques. After you have studied the techniques, reconvene in your groups and briefly explain to your team members the techniques that you have studied. 2. Apply the Problem Solving Techniques The objective of this group exercise is to apply the problem solving techniques to a real life situation: Online Learning. As you will have experienced so far, there are many positive as well as negative aspects to learning in an online environment. As a group, choose one aspect of online learning that you find particularly problematic. Once you have chosen a problem, make use of the problem solving techniques at your disposal to work towards solving this problem. You must make use of one problem solving technique from each of the four 'modes' of problem solving that we have discussed in class. You will therefor apply four problem solving techniques to the problem you have identified. For this assignment, you will have to meet and collaborate in your groups, but each group member will write up and submit their own individual assignment. Writing up assignment Submit a summary of the process you have followed by indicating: Which techniques you have used; For each of the techniques used, reflect on the extent to which it worked / didn't work in terms of solving the problem; For each technique used, also reflect on where and how you would apply the technique in future. Use the following format for your assignment: Technique 1: Name of technique used. Did it work - why? / Didn't it work - why? Where and how would you apply this technique in future? Technique 2: Name of technique used. Did it work - why? / Didn't it work - why? Where and how would you apply this technique in future? Etc. Important: Each student have to submit their own assignment individually. On the front page of the assignment, include: A log of the group meetings that were held (when did you meet, duration of meetings, who attended and participated). You will have to meet for a total of 2 - 3 hours over the weeks available until the end of Week 4. Links to the recordings of the group meetings. Each group member will be graded individually.
