1. See the values listed on pages 56-57 in Gardenswartz & Rowes book (our text). Create your Top 10 List, identifying the 10 values that are most important to you. Initially you may start by brainstorming values and narrowing your list to 10. Once you have a list of 10 order them from most important (1) to least important (10) (obviously knowing they are all important since they are your highest values). If there is a value that is important to you and not on the list, feel free to add it. YOUR TOP 10 VALUES (in order):

1. security

2. family

3. honesty

4.tolerance

5. integrity

6.communication

7. knowledge

8.peace

9.fairness

10. health

Once you have identified and prioritized your Top 10 values, please answer the following reflection questions: 2. How were your most important values formed? Identify three values and describe factors that influenced the development of each, including why you hold these values so dear. (Insert your identified value and below each value, reflect on each one.) 2a. Value 1: 2b. Value 2: 2c. Value 3: 3. Using these same three values, describe assumptions you might make and/or biases you might have because of these values (i.e., your lens/point of view). The assumptions/biases you identify could be about yourself and/or others (Insert each value and below each value, insert your reflection.) 3a. Value 1: Security 3b. Value 2: 3c. Value 3: 4. As you reflect on your Top 10 values in relation to your life (home and or work) experiences, what happens to you when you believe your values have been violated? (Give at least two specific examplesprovide contextual information about the situation, describe what happened, and how you reacted.) 5. Looking at your Top 10 values, which of these values impact how you view/react to differences specifically? Identify at least two or three values below: 6. Once you have identified two or three values that influence how you view/react to differences, describe how each one influences your reaction/behavior. Give specific examples (i.e., explain a specific time when each of those values was violated, and what happened to you, internally and how that translated externally to your actions/behavior).
