Suppliers were asked to complete a questionnaire relating to the environmental impact of their operations and supply chain. 

• Few suppliers had documentation for waste management processes and had informal arrangements in place. 

• SSM staff have raised concerns that suppliers may be contributing to or involved in unlawful mass land clearing occurring in several countries. The suppliers most likely to be involved in this have declined to comment on the situation.
