Suppose the network in Figure 1 represents a transportation network with a limited capacity where the nodes still represent cities but numbers on the arcs between any two connected cities represent the maximum daily number of vehicles the road can handle (in thousands):

a) Formulate a linear mathematical model to find the maximum number of vehicles that go through the network in any given day between city 1 and 9. Clearly define your decision variables, objective function and constraints.

b) Use Excel Solver to find the optimal solution of the model your formulated and include a screen shot of your solution.
