Susan has been teaching second grade for 10 years. One day, while on recess duty, she noticed several third-grade boys were playing hide and go seek near the school gymnasium. While they shouldn't have been playing the janitor's closet, a broken lock provided the three young boys an excellent hiding place. Knowing that the third grade teacher would be coming along in a few minutes to take them back to class, and distracted by a large commotion in the faculty parking lot, Susan allowed the boys to have their fun and walked up the hill to see what was going on in the faculty parking lot. A church van had just backed into Susan's car, severely denting her front bumper and hood. As Susan talked to an apologetic pastor, one of the boys hiding in the closet reached up onto a shelf and tipped over a container of professional strength floor cleaner which splattered into his eyes and severely burned his skin.
