Systems Cycle hired John, an experienced computer programmer, in its IT department. Shortly after being hired, John used Systems Cycle's computer to register a domain name similar to that of his former employer and he redirected traffic from the new domain to a pornographic website. The former employer sued John and Systems Cycle, arguing that the latter should be vicariously liable for John's actions.
