Task $1$: Preparing a design specification based on sound research and planning your Project.

Your first task is to consider all the activities required in the design process you will undertake and plan your project by using a Gantt Chart which shows activities and time scales you feel is achievable. In addition to that, you should then map out your activities by using a critical path network diagram. This will give you a timeframe that you will then need to follow.

Once you have planned your design project and completed your research, you must then write your Product Design Specification to industrial standards. Please read guidance notes below;

To complete this task $1$ fully, the following elements must be undertaken in your workbook: $($Your research will not be assessed but will be viewed to ensure you are following the correct process$)$

$$ Research similar equipment that are currently aimed at this market in order to learn from them. Carry out a product analysis on them using ACCESSFM$+$MSM as an analysis tool. Then conduct further research into different materials and their properties with pros and cons, availability, cost etc$),$ manufacturing methods $($must include analysis of various relevant manufacturing methods with pros and cons, costs, environmental impact etc$),$ sustainability $($life cycle research and analysis$)$ and relevant environmental standards and their key requirements, relevant BS$/$ISO standards and key requirements identified, legislation and regulations and health and safety key requirements identified, plus any other research you may feel relevant.

Then use the ACCESSFM$+$MSM as a starting guide to write your own design specification for your proposed solution. Feel free to use your own PDS headings if you wish.
