Purpose of Assessment

This assessment will assist you to develop one tool which can be used to maximise the performance of staff, encourage collaboration, and identify and overcome barriers to ensure the effectiveness of the team.

What do I Need to do?

You are required create a Work in Progress (WIP) Action Plan (template below) which:

  1. Lists four specific tasks you are required to complete as an educator.
  2. For each task, identify how it links to your centre's philosophy - below (for example, you may have experiences to provide - this may link with your centre's philosophy of 'providing meaningful experiences to young children' or 'providing a holistic program').
  3. Identify any potential constraints or barriers to achieving designed goals.
  4. Develop strategies which demonstrate how these tasks will be implemented using a participative leadership style, and how you will support the policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines of the service.
  5. Identify who you would develop and implement your plan in consultation with, and how you would use a participative leadership style and positive communication (this means you do a draft and then discuss it with them, set timeframes and make changes as required).
  6. Answer the following questions.

AtSafe Haven Early Learning Centre we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the Wurundjeri land. We pay our respects to all Elders, both past, present, and future. We view children as capable and involved learners, who are empowered on their own learning journey. We understand that children are naturally inquisitive and have a voice to be heard.

Our passionate team of educators are always striving to further their knowledge and ensure that the educational program is inclusive for all. We aim to provide children with a safe and healthy environment. We believe that cultural diversity enriches our centre and celebrate the benefits of a variety of cultures being able to come together as one community. We want everyone to feel welcomed when they arrive, from the first hello, through to orientation, a child's first day and our revolving invitation to be an ongoing partner of our service.
