Task Binary Addition and Subtraction

Please answer the following questions, showing all your working out and intermediate steps. For this question, use A=4 and B=7)

a) Convert the decimal numbers A and B to 4-bit binary numbers. Show how to add together these two 4-bit binary numbers and state whether the answer is valid to 4-bit arithmetic.

b) Convert the decimal numbers A and B to 5-bit binary numbers. Using twos complement representation, show how to:

i. Subtract the two 5-bit binary numbers (AB)

ii. How to translate the binary result back to decimal. (Note if your solution is negative, you must use 2s complement to show the positive equivalent)
