Step 1:Read Chapter 6: Selection and Development in your . Next, read the California Peace Officer Bill of Rights and review the LAPD/LASD police union websites and the California Law Enforcement Lobbyist website. The websites are located in the "Policing Resources" module. With the websites, pay attention to the "about us" page to understand what those organizations do for law enforcement and how they fit into police organizations. Finally, review the CA Post training video (feel free to browse their other videos). These readings, websites, and videos will provide you with an overview of police recruitment and selection. Next, you will see how organizations that support law enforcement also influence training and selection while providing guidance and workplace protections.
