Question:
Terms of reference I am commissioning this report on behalf of Ulysses Samuel Quigley Inc. Ulysses Samuel Quigley started baking breads and pies during the Australian Gold Rush period, with just himself a son and daughter. We are a proudly wholly Australia owned Australian company. Since that time, we have grown steadily and now have over 300 employees. We have over 20 million invested in capital equipment and ship our products to 26 countries. Our main competitors are Arnott's and Westons. In a fierce competitiveenvironment, we have worked hard to keep up with technical advances but now find that our systems do not support and add value to our company. Additionally, the lack of systems and processes to capture key aspects of our business are not codified and we experience knowledge loss through turnover, due to retirements and changes in work patterns. The board has been advised
that the knowledge management literature may provide ideas to further develop our business and out-compete the competition. Our specific requirements for this consultancy include:
1. How to capture, store and use the tacit knowledge of our employees?
2. What HR practices might we develop to support knowledge acquisition
and sharing?
