The company which is in need of wood supply has instructed Farid, one of the directors, to purchase the raw material of wood from rubber trees. Farid who has a land with old rubber trees sold his own rubber trees to the company without making prior disclosure to the company. Not long after the sale, it was discovered that the sale price of the rubber trees was grossly in excess of the market price. As a result, the company suffered losses. In the mean time, the company sent another director Ah Seng, to China to negotiate with Yijing Company a lucrative contract for the supply of furniture. Ah Seng informed Terus Maju Sdn Bhd that the negotiation had failed. Yijing Company had awarded the contract to another company in Malaysia where Ah Seng is one of the directors.
