The agency I plan to use for my program evaluation is the US Department of Agriculture(USDA): Food and Nutrition Service. The USDA's vision is to provide economic opportunity through innovation, helping rural America thrive, and promote agriculture production that better nourishes Americans, while also helping feed others throughout the world. Evaluating a program like WIC can involve various approaches. One common method will be using a control group design, where a group similar to the participant group receives no intervention or a different one with the same goal, to compare outcomes. Another approach could be a participatory model of evaluation, which promotes organizational learning and may respond to the unique challenges of evaluating social programs. Qualitative and quantitative data could be collected from WIC staff and participants. There could also be a pilot program, where there is direct observation of the staff providing nutrition education. Data can be collected through surveys, focus groups, and interviews of staff and participants
