The assignment may include firm (project) valuation, equity issuance, debt policy, M&A, financial analysis, and corporate governance. You are expected to implement a logical and coherent analysis based on real data from real firms. A typical flow of the report will go as follows: Motivation (e.g., why the firm or the project? Why is the case interesting or important), theoretical framework, analysis (models, regressions, comparison of data among different firms, etc...) and finally conclusion. The most important is to have a good case (motivation), the topic does not have to include every conceivable analysis.
