The College of Humanities (CoH) of the University of Ghana has just appointed you as their management accountant to manage the transition of the existing collegiate structure. CoH has six (6) primary schools – Business School, School of Arts, School of Languages, School of Law, School of Performing Arts, and School of Social Sciences – for educating their students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A recent external panel review of operations recommended for a management accountant to assist with the information support system for the management function of the college, hence your appointment. You are a bit unsure as to what your role will be in CoH since it has already engaged consultants to design the new management accounting systems. You expected that the development of the new system would have been your responsibility as a management accountant.
