The flash floods in Kamwala South have taken their toll on the residents of the area. For many, the floods have caused damage to their homes and properties, making life even more challenging in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. IMPACTS Floods have damaged and destroyed structures (including houses, shops and roads) and crops, and increased the incidence of waterborne diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea and dysentery. The city experiences perennial cholera cases and fatalities, particularly in un-serviced informal settlements which have poor living conditions and are prone to flooding. It is the urban poor living in informal settlements who are most vulnerable to these impacts. Most unplanned settlements use pit latrines and shallow wells which can get contaminated when flooding occurs increasing the risk of waterborne diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea and dysentery Requirement: You have just been awarded a contract as Main Consultant to advise DMMU on this particular national disaster. Thus, you are expected to provide the following data: a.) To explore all the risks associated with the draining of the water and evacuation of the community members in the affected areas. Since you are a Risk Management Expert, you are expected to provide the source of the risk and the particular risk or risk factor. b.) Analyze the probability of the identified risk occurring and the severity of the impact on the project strategies. c.) Develop a Risk Management Framework/Model to be used on this project. d.) Develop a Risk Register with the following parameters; Risk Source, Risk Factor, Risk Analysis ( Probability Vs Impact), Risk Impact, Risk Significance, Risk Ranking, Risk Owner and Risk Mitigation Measure for the identified risk
