The following data shown in Table 1 contain activities for planning a site in the Long Beach
Question:
The following data shown in Table 1 contain activities for planning a site in the Long Beach and the activity time estimates. In addition, the precedence relationships between activities are included. You are expected to investigate the role of project network using CPM and PERT analysis. You are expected to develop a CMP/PERT network for this project and determine the expected project completion time (AOA or AON can be conducted). You are also responsible to prepare a report for your chief project manager and this report needs to address the concerns of the following:
(a) Introduction
(b) An explanation of the model and the methodology used (i.e. CPM and PERT).
(c) Display your estimated outputs using tables and graphs as well as network diagram.
(d) A discussion of the results estimated.
(e) Any other comments you feel relevant to the issues being addressed.
(f) Conclusion and recommendations.
NOTES and HINTS:
1) Draw the project network. Calculate expected time, critical path, variance, standard deviation, slack time.
2) Calculate the probability of completing the project within 45 days. 3) Remember: You are required to write a report.
4) Calculations with no explanation are not acceptable.
5) You are strongly advised to use excel.
6)Word limit: minimum 1500- maximum 2500 words.
