The following is the guidelines for event planners to determine size of tent:

Stand-up event: 6 ft² per person
Sit-down dinner: 10-12 ft² per person
Buffet: 100 ft² per 8 ft table/bar
Auditorium or theater-style seating: 6 ft² per person plus 4-6ft width for aisles
Dance floor: 2‒3 ft² per person
Speaker stage: 10 ft² per person
Band stage: 25-30/musician electronic; 10-15 acoustic; 40-50/drummer; 30/spinet piano; 100/full grand piano; 10/backup vocalist; 30-50/lead vocalist
You are planning for a large-tented event. It will be a sit-down dinner for 300 people seated. There will also be a dance floor. The guests like to dance so at least 50% of them will be dancing at any one time.
