The following observations were taken during a test on steam boiler. Quantity of coal supplied = 4400 kg/hr. Steam generated= 35,000 kg/hr. Steam condition= 20 bar, 260°C Calorific value of coal= 30,000kJ/kg. Temperature of water entering the economiser= 15°C Temperature of water leaving the economiser= 90°C Calculate the thermal efficiency of the boiler and the % of heat energy of the fuel utilised by the economiser.
