The government shouldn't be able to prioritize smaller manufacturing groups over larger manufacturing groups. When the federal government does this there are three American manufacturing jobs lost to on sugar producing job. American manufacturers are then forced to pay twice as much as the rest of the world does for sugar. There should be stricter regulations protecting all Americans manufactures to ensure fair treatment.

 

With inflation increasing the authorities can set the legal price limit. This helps limit price increases and keep inflation under control without resorting to higher interest rates and no causing a shortage of goods. With the Covid -19 pandemic the economy got hit with a lot of job loss that effected shipping goods from other countries that made it difficult for stores to received essentials such as toilet paper and water. As the world returns back to our new normal we see that there is an increase in cost of living, livable goods, and gas without a significant increase in income.

When looking into the sugar price floor program and how it works compared to a free economy market. In general I am for a free economy market but I am also open to the idea of a government storage of supplies. Like the oil reserves, If the government purchased large amounts of health and medical surplus and at times of need or emergencies the government would either give it out or sell it for the original price to help combat the people who raise the price on goods. But this is a smaller scale. On a bigger scale the government could put into action new or improved laws to help the logistical planning and moving of products to combat these demands during emergencies. And instead of taking loans out and paying with interest we could take some of the military budget or funding and redistribute it into a new program that would help benefit the citizens during times of crisis or emergency. The idea of this is to keep the market free from government control but also have another program that is separatewhich is basically a government market.
