The Meditech Surgical case study (page 21-27) is "textbook" for almost any manufacturer / supplier of any product. Companies must continue to grow and meet new and improved customer needs and expectations with the introduction of new products. But still, must meet the current needs of its existing customers as well. Meditech has a typical distribution and internal operations system. The internal operations could be improved, but if other areas are improved first, as you will read at the end of the case study, should eventually have a positive transformational impact on the internal operations. The last few pages should be, in my opinion where the problems are. With that being said, I feel that the questions listed at the end of the case are appropriate for the completion of this assignment. Respond to those questions and in doing so, provide details from the text that will support your answer for each question.
.) What are Meditech's problems in introducing new products? In manufacturing ALL products?
.) What is driving these problems, both systematically and organizationally?
.) Why is the customer service manager the first person to recognize the major issue?
.) How would you fix these problems?
