The MSPM program at MSU is built upon the widely recognized project management standards outlined in the PMIs PMBOK Guide. However, there are other non-PMI approaches to project management such as PRINCE2, IPMA, and P2M. In fact, many organizations develop their own methods to manage projects for more standardization and repeatability. Agile Project Management is another approach in project management that allows project managers to deliver high-priority, high-quality work on high uncertainty and high complexity projects.

In this team assignment, you will discuss the different project management standards you have read about with your team. Below are a few starting pieces of literature for you. Be sure to relate any experiences you have had with the standards (other than PMIs). Also, discuss whether you think Agile should be considered its own standard or should it be one methodology that falls under another standard. One of the items you will be reviewing is the Agile Manifesto. It is short and somewhat vague, allowing for interpretation in different ways and applied in a variety of forms.

You will develop a report based on your readings and other research that your team may do that presents the different standards, their main tenets or principles, the pros and cons, certification details, and any other information you feel relevant to capture. The report you will develop should be a reference for anyone who wants to understand that there are different standards out there for managing projects. Include at least 10 references for this paper and use parenthetical citing for all references. The report must be double-spaced and 12 - 15 pages in length (excluding the abstract, the title page, tables, figures, equations, and references) and cover the topic thoroughly. Dont justify the margins. The 12-point Times New Roman font must be used, and all margins must be 1 inch.
