Question:
The objective is to explain the role of the financial markets and their structures which facilitate wealth maximization.
We have learned that financial institutions act as intermediaries to make connections between savers and those seeking financing. There are a variety of financial institutions, and not all regulations apply to all types of financial institutions. Financial markets are broken into a variety of classifications: primary market, secondary market, money market, capital market, broker market, and dealer market. Additionally, globalization has also added a new dimension to financial markets. Ninety-five percent of the world's market is outside of the United states. This creates incentives for companies to go global; thereby, increasing international trade. This requires a network of financial markets worldwide to facilitate the exchange of money which crosses borders requiring business owners to understand the role these markets play to help them maximize wealth.
