Step 4. Setting up shared folders

One of the new workstations will host some weather information that will need to be accessed and updated from other computers on the network. Two categories of information need to be available - current conditions, which need to be regularly updated by several meteorologists but should only be available to others for viewing, and archives, which will only be updated on the local machine and should only be accessible for viewing from other workstations.

Using your Windows machine, set up shared folders for the required information and apply the appropriate access type. Use descriptive share names and groups. In the space below, write down the shares you created, the groups which you gave access to them and the permissions granted to each group.
