The students need to develop a case based on the organizational culture of a mid-sized firm (having at least 50 employees). It would be a group based assignment with a maximum of 4 students in each group.

The assignment would be submitted in a report format as a Microsoft Word Document. The font size of the headings should be Arial 14 and the font size of the text should be Arial 12. The text should be well formatted and right justified. The report would include the following headings:

Organizational Hierarchy at the firm (Explain the main designations at the firm along with their job description and main skill sets based on which they are hired)

Yearly increments in salary of employees

Motivations given to employees by the firm (monetary/non-monetary motivation) e.g.: employee recognition awards, job enrichment, job rotation, job sharing, job redesigning etc.

Ratio of male and female employees

Policy of hiring disabled employees, employees from varying races/religion at the firm

Leave policies and attendance policies at the firm

Communication and teamwork at the firm

Is teamwork required at Inter-departmental or Intra-departmental level

Does the firm follow upward/downward communication?

What type of power is exerted by the managers on their subordinates?

Which platforms are used by the employees for communication amongst them?

Organizational culture practiced at the firm

Recommendations for improvement of HR policies at the firm

Note: Students need to attach the business card of the person whom they interviewed (preferably the HR Manager). In order to score a high grade on this report, students should apply the keywords that are mentioned in the various chapters of the book and are a part of their course content.
