Consider a database system for the National Basketball Association $($NBA$).$ The data requirements are summarized as follows.

The personnel involved in the NBA include players, coaches, managers, and umpires. Each is identified by a unique personnel ID$.$ They are also described by their first and last names along with their birth years.

Players are further described by other attributes such as their height, weight, and regular position.

Teams are uniquely identified by their names. Teams are also described by the city in which they are located and the conference in which they play $($West or East$).$

A team has one manager, several coaches, and a number of players.

Games are played on a particular date between two teams, with one designated as the home team and the other the visiting team. The statistics $($scores$,$ rebounds, blocks, and turnovers$)$ are recorded for each team in each game. The team with the highest score is the winner of the game. There are two types of games: regular season and playoffs. For playoffs, a pair of teams may play up to seven games. There is a sequential number for each playoff game $(1-7).$

After a game is finished, the statistics $($scores$,$ rebounds, blocks, and turnovers$)$ for each player are also recorded.

For each playoff game, the most valuable person $($MVP$)$ and the best defending person are recorded.
