The thermal diffusivity $\backslash (\backslash$boldsymbol$\{\backslash$alpha$\}\backslash )$ is the controlling transport property for transient conduction. Using appropriate values of $\backslash (\backslash$boldsymbol$\{$k$\},\backslash$boldsymbol$\{\backslash$rho$\}\backslash ),$ and $\backslash (\backslash$boldsymbol$\{$c$\}\_\{\backslash$boldsymbol$\{$p$\}\}\backslash )$ from Appendix A$,$ calculate for the following materials at the prescribed temperatures: pure aluminum, cast iron and clay $-$ fireclay brick at $\backslash (300\backslash$mathrm$\{$~K$\},700\backslash$mathrm$\{$~K$\}\backslash )$ and $1000$ K $.$
