Selecting a Publication for Review

Use the topic to search in online literature for a published article of your interest. To select a publication, start with the title of your topic or a set of keywords related to the title as query terms for online search. For the online search use the search engines that were discussed in the previous unit including Google ScholarLinks

Conducting a Review

From an academic perspective, a peer review is an in$-$depth analysis of an article by an individual working in the same field to assess the quality and relevance of the article for publication in a journal or conference proceedings. The process of a peer review starts when an author submits an article to the editor of a journal or the program committee of a conference.

Assignments:

$1-$ selected from a peer$-$reviewed journal or conference proceedings. I highly suggest choosing an article that is not older than $3-5$ years. As cybersecurity is a highly emerging and fast pace area, the advancements are either nullified or evolve rapidly. Therefore reading the most recent publications give you a broader idea about the advancements in the domain.

$2.$ For the article you chose, write a review. Your review should:

A$.)$ Provide a paper summary highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the author's work. For the summary include

$$ a brief description of the problem,

$$ methods or models applied to solve the problem, and their evaluation,

$$ strengths and weaknesses of the arguments presented in the paper.
