• The u.s. workforce is becoming increasingly diverse. hence, the instructor believes that the ability to successfully deal with diversity is an important skill that students should possess. therefore, one of the learning outcomes that this task seeks to achieve is the ability to deal to deal with diversity and work towards a common objective while overcoming interpersonal conflicts that may arise. the first section of this group project report should be an executive summary. the second section should be an analysis of macroeconomic trends and a discussion of the impact of these trends on the industry being researched. the third section should be an industry analysis. this should be a discussion of the future for the selected industry. the analysis should include a comprehensive overview of an industry, the recent developments and their implications, detailed profile of the major players with a focus on one company within the selected industry, competitive pressures in that industry, global competition, etc. students are advised to divide this section into several sub-sections. the next section will be both a quantitative as well as qualitative analysis of three firms from the selected industry. the last section will be the conclusion (investment recommendation) followed by references as well as tables and graphs. please refer to the attached suggested format. format of research report executive summary overview of the economy (assessment of the state of the economy, how the industry being researched is impacted by the state of the economy, and the economic outlook) regulatory environment is this industry regulated? if so, brief details. is there any pending legislation? if so, what is likely to be the impact? are the regulations helping or hampering the growth of the industry?) historical perspective (how has the industry evolved over time) recent trends and their implications this section would include a profile of the major players and their financial overview future outlook (incl. global perspective in the future) business strategies competitive strategies (what are the value chain activities of the major players? how are they serving their customers?) product portfolio strategy (what is the product line of three major companies in this industry? have they introduced any new products lately? if so, have these new introductions been successful?) key success factors that would be essential for the players to be globally competitive operational benchmarks for success in the industry – comparison of these across companies in the industry cost structure capacity utilization other measures to evaluate the operating efficiencies of units operating in the industry financial benchmarks comparison of key financial parameters across selected firms in the industry conclusion (incl. outlook for the industry, any potential problems that this industry could face in the future, as well as the limitations of the study). 9. appendix (bibliography, tables, and graphs)
