The Vocation/Reflective paper is a paper in which you narrate or personally discuss your chosen area of study/practice.
The paper in addition to identifying your chosen area of study/practice, will summarize your significant learning experiences which you have experienced, and will describe the new knowledge, values, and/or skills acquired during your foundation and concentration years in the business program at Grand View. The paper should also include a personal assessment of yourself in this learning process.
The reflective paper in its analysis and reflection should touch on specific areas of study including strategic business economic methods, social policy, ethical behavior, human behavior, cultural environment and research. What did you learn in these areas that are or will be relevant to you? Further, what did you learn about professional ethics and values, human and cultural diversity, social and economic justice, and their application to your professional and even personal life?

The paper will be divided into two primary components set out below. Please use the questions below to help guide your reflection and writing. The paper must be four to five pages in length. APA style citations are required for this assignment.

How has your major(s), minor(s), future plans, etc. impacted your professional pursuits?

Where do you find peer support and mentors to think boldly and imaginatively about your future?
Education and Vocation
Think about what you have you learned in your academic courses (major and in exploring the core), in your service activities, in your leadership activities, in study abroad, etc.:
What needs to be changed within your field of study (and who needs to lead that change) to make the situation better?
What different cultural perspectives and economic, social, and political conflicts are realities that must be dealt with in your area of study?
How can you use your academic major to make a difference in society?
