Adwoa Potato, a level 100 friend of yours has been asked by her lecturer to explain to the class why it is crucial for every organization to think of the future by ensuring that the required number of employees, with the required skills, are available when and where they are needed in order to achieve its strategic goals. Adwoa runs to you for advice. How are you going to help her with her presentation in class knowing that being effective in future job position, planning is something managers obviously want? (20marks) 2. GTUC has introduced a new system of uploading results online for its faculty called the ERP system. This has necessitated a training a developing session for the faculty. Unfortunately, the management of the school is hesitant to embark on this training session with the reason that there is no money to pay for the resources that will be needed. As a human resource manager, explain to GTUC management the need for the training session, persuading them using the benefits GTUC will derive from the exercise. (20 marks) 3. List and explain the ADDIE Model as it relates to training and developing employees at the workplace. (20 marks) 4. Explain the purpose and scope of Human Resource Management in terms of resourcing an organisation with talent and skills appropriate to fulfil business objectives. (20 Marks) 5. The novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a virus for which no known vaccine is available yet. A person diagnosed with the virus can only be managed with the hope that their immune system will fight the virus. Governments of many countries (including Ghana) are now beginning to accept the reality that until a vaccine is found, ways must be adopted to be able to live with the virus without contracting it. This means that same must be done at the workplace as well. A single person found to have contracted the virus will have a lot of implication on the organisation. This certainly is a source of concern for HR managers in the organisation. a. Explain four (4) of the HR implications should the workforce contract this virus. (10 marks) b. Apart from the various safety protocols outlined by the W.H.O. and health sectors of various countries, discuss how four (4) of the various HR practices could be employed to help fight this pandemic.
