(60 MARKS) Question 1 Norah was a sales assistant at Diamond Emporium, a large clothing retailer owned by Mun Long Berhad. The business operates seven days a week, but employees are given one rest day per week according to a schedule set by their supervisor. For the month of August 2023, Norah's rest day was set to be on Friday. On Wednesday \\( 9^{\\text {th }} \\) August, her supervisor noticed that Norah was absent from work. She asked Norah's friend of her whereabout, but no one knows why Norah did not come to work. She was also absent on Thursday \\( 10^{\\text {th }} \\) August. When Norah return to work on Saturday, her supervisor, En. Mat told her that she has been dismissed for being absent without leave. Norah was very upset and tried to reason with En. Mat. Norah told him that she was actually on medical leave, and she intended to inform the company about this on Saturday i.e., the day she returned to work. Norah then showed the medical certificate that she has gotten from Klinik Afiat, one of the company's panel clinics. The company however insisted that they had taken the right decision based on Section 15 (2) of the Employment Act 1955 and told Norah to pack her personal belongings and leave immediately. Norah came to see you for advice. She wishes to know whether the company can terminate her employment based on the facts stated above. Required: a.
