These are practice questions for Discrete Math Logic and Proofs. I'm trying to fully grasp this chapter but it is confusing and I have my exam in less than a week. There are 4 practice arguments I am posting and need the following. I already had someone help me with two arguments I created myself so I wanted to give another thank you to them as well incase they see this :)

  1. Determine which arguments are valid or not valid. Then prove or disprove at least two valid arguments using deduction rules. How is the argument translated into the deduction rule that you are using to prove or disprove it?

Argument #1:

If I stay awake then I will feel the existential dread.

I stayed awake.

Therefore, I feel the existential dread.

Argument #2:

If I stay awakethen I will feel the existential dread.

If I feel the existential dread then I will be creative.

Therefore, If I stay awake, then I will be creative.

Argument #3:

If the sun is shining, solar panels make power

No power is being made.

Therefore, the sun is not out.

Argument #4:

If the wind is blowing, windmills make power.

If windmills make power, then blades are spinning.

Therefore, if the wind is blowing, then blades are spinning.
