CIVL372- FUNDAMENTALS OF REINFORCED CONCRETE
muninain anu assumpinis.
a) A reinforced concrete slab is carried by the beams as shown in the figure.
b) Beams will be considered as 3060cm.
c) Columns will be assumed to be 4040cm.
d) A 2d frame model will be assumed as shown in the figure.
e) Unit weight of concrete is 25kNm3
f) Dimensions, materials, additional dead load and live load for each student are given in the table below.
Requirements:
a) Determine the loads acting on the B-B beams (i.e. total dead load, live load and earthquake load).
b) Do the structural analysis (use same dimensions throughout the beam).
c) Find all the required reinforcement (flexural and shear) for the B104 Beam.
d) Determine the required reinforcement for B1 Column.
e) Draw the beam and column details ( use scale 120 sections).
To calculate the earthquake load (EQ) follow the following steps:
EQ=13**0.4**2.5**1**WR
W= Total weight of the structure at first floor slab level. Assume there is no wall on the beams.
where,
W=WDEADLOAD+0.3WLIVELOAD
Consider R=4
Perform Struyctural analysis for the following load combinations:
1.4 DL +1.6 LL
DL+LL+EQ
DL+LL-EQ
0.9DL + EQ
0.9DL - EQ
