Think Critically: VMware Virtual SAN Online Lab

As an alternative to creating an expensive iSCSI RAID server, your boss would like you to explore the possibility of using vSphere's VSAN feature to set up a cluster of vSphere hosts that share their SSD and hard drives. Go to VMware to perform the following VMware's VSAN

1. Log on to Windows computer, open a Web browser, and go to VMware.com.
2. Point to Login, click MyVMware and log on
3. Scroll down and click the VMware Hands-on Labs link. If necessary, click the Labs icon from the left-hand pane and then click the SDDC link located under the All Labs heading.
4. Scroll down and click the Enroll button located in the Virtual SAN 6.x from A to Z lab box. If necessary, register for the lab by entering your MyVMware username and password.
5. Click the Start This Lab button and read the Lab Overview information.
6. When you see the Module 1 screen, perform each of the lessons shown.
7. Write a brief report describing the benefits of a VSAN along with the basic steps needed to setup a simple VSAN environment.
