Activity Objectives

Think-share (TS) is a collaborative learning strategy where students work together to solve a problem or answer a question about an assigned reading. This strategy requires students to (1) think individually about a topic or answer to a question; and (2) share ideas with classmates

This activity is designed to help you think critically about the ethical use of observation tools.

In previous modules we learned about ethical use of observation and assessment and subjective observation. Keep in mind this code for this activity; According to NAEYC's Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment (2011),

P-1.3We shall not participate in practices that discriminate against children by denying benefits,giving special advantages, or excluding them from programs or activities on the basis of their sex,race, national origin, immigration status,preferred home language, religious beliefs, medicalcondition, disability, or the marital status/family structure, sexual orientation, or religious beliefsor other affiliations of their families(p. 3).

In this activity we learn how observations tools can be used with bias outcomes. Answer these questions reflectively.
